Abstract :
Rotator cuff tendinopathies constitute a major cause of consultation in rheumatology. They are responsible for a significant cost to society, both in terms of drug consumption and days off work. The severity of the lesions can range from a simple benign tendinopathy to a complete rupture of the tendon. The tendon is a poorly vascularized structure that heals slowly compared to other soft tissues. As a result, treatments tend to be long and results variable. The symptomatic treatment combines rehabilitation with analgesics and anti-inflammatory drugs. Hyaluronic acid infiltration is a new and effective treatment option for the treatment of rotator cuff tendinopathies. Fundamental studies have shown interesting results with regard to the ability of the hyaluronic acid to promote tendon slipping and to make better tendinous architectural organization. These results appear to be supported by encouraging clinical results on pain and function of shoulder.
