Title Of Article :
Classification of Provinces in Turkey in Terms of Livestock Statistics with Fuzzy Clustering Analysis
Abstract :
We need common and obtainable indicators /variables to classify the units (region, province, district, town, etc.) that form a country or to make a comparison between these units. In this study, it is aimed to classify 81 provinces of Turkey, in terms of animal population and animal production regarding 26 variables which consist of livestock statistics with fuzzy clustering analysis. In the study, average Silhouette Coefficient, Dunn and normalized Dunn partition coefficients and discriminant analysis of the correct classification rates are calculated for each number (k=2,3,4,...) of cluster. According to the research results, in case of the number of cluster is to find two, Turkey s 81 provinces reached the most stable structure in terms of livestock statistics and the first cluster which consist of 67 provinces in terms of some of the cattle and poultry statistics; the second cluster which consist of 14 provinces showed the difference in terms of the statistics of small ruminants and also it was determined that they had higher averages.
