Title Of Article :
Effect of Drilled Hole Diameter on Cutting Forces and Torques for Thread Tapping on AISI 1050 Stell with Taps
Abstract :
In this study; threads were tapped in drilled holes on AISI 1050 material with HSS machine taps coated and uncoated TIN. Holes were drilled by using HSS twist drills of which diameters are different from each other. Four different diameters were used for HSS twist drills. Threads were tapped in these holes by using taps of which forms are different from each other. Cutting forces and torques were measured in during thread tapping by using a dynamometer. An effect of hole diameter on cutting forces and torques was investigated. All of experimental was made on CNC Milling machines with cutting oil. The experimental results have shown that the hole diameters affect torques and cutting forces occurred during the tapping process.
