  • Abstract
One of the most important subjects is to detect, isolate and system reconfigure the aircraft actuator faults. Full order observers, reduced order observers and unknown input observers are used in state estimations. After the estimation of states, fault detection can be provided by conducting residual analysis. Fault isolation can be carried out either by making each residual only sensitive to a particular fault and insensitive to all other faults or by making each residual to be sensitive to faults in all but one fault. Despite of the existence of unknown inputs, fault detection and isolation are simulated for a very large, four-engined, cargo jet aircraft model which has four states. Actuator fault scenario is realized by changing the input vector, at any time. Gain scheduling is used for reconfiguration. Fault detection, isolation and a recommended reconfiguration are shown through the simulations to be functional.
