Abstract :
In this paper, a hybrid technique combining the vector finite element method (FEM) and the method of moments (MoM) is presented to calculate electromagnetic analysis in rectangular enclosures with aperture. The interior and exterior regions of the enclosure are analyzed separately by employing the field equivalence principle. While FEM is used for solving EM fields inside the enclosure, MoM is used for solving the surface integrals related with the aperture field components using equivalent surface currents. The hybrid method is applied to an empty and loaded enclosure. Results are compared with literature and good agreement is reported. Then, for different configurations of aperture and enclosure, shielding effectiveness, stored electrical energy ratio and dissipated power are examined.
