Abstract
All extra-class educational activities are called “outdoor education” which is taken as complementary to the formal education. Even though it is mostly preferred for environmental education, the outdoor education also attracts a great deal of attention from the fields of social sciences as well. It is considered that outdoor education, based on various philosophical foundations, is a promising research field and fertile education and training environment. The research concludes that outdoor education bears visible importance and occupies a central place in conventional approaches of education.
