  • Abstract
    The purpose of this study is to investigate the views of social sciences preservice teachers of what they know about the concepts of the nature of science and to reveal their thoughts on the provision of undergraduate courses in these subjects. This research has been conducted with the preservice teachers who are educated in Pamukkale University, Faculty of Education, Department of Social Science Education during the 2010-2011 academic year. In this study, mixed research model, in which qualitative and quantitative data has been utilized. Concurrent triangulation strategy of mixed research model has been used. In determining the nature of the views of social sciences preservice teachers, quantitative data have been gathered by surveys and qualitative data have been gathered by form of interview. According to the research results; it has been shown that preservice teachers know the science and the characteristics of scientists and the attributes of the scientific knowledge.
