Abstract :
In this study, it has been determined that ratio of shear wall required for shear wall- frame systems as regards to Z1,Z2 and Z3 local site class by the method of virtuel work theory. Thus 7 and 9 storey reinforced concrete structures have been designed in 1st and 2st earthquake area with I=1.0 building seismic importance factor. These designed structures have been analyzed by SAP 2000 structural analysis program. Story drifts have been determined according to storey displacements calculated from the analysis and compared with interstorey drift capacity specified in DBYBHY-2007 (Specifications for the Buildings to Be Constructed in Earthquake Ares, 2007). The aim of this study is developing an approach a shear wall ratio for designers.
