Abstract
Heat pumps are commonly used for drying operation in the low temperature of food products. Low pressures in the drying operation provide positive effect to evaporation. In this study, vacuum heat pump dryer with economizer and without economizer was designed. Thermodynamic behavior of heat pump system and drying air was numerically modeled. As a result, it is determined that component capacities of vacuum heat pump dryer with economizer are about less % 20 than component capacities of system without economizer.
