ENERGY ANALYSIS OF NITROGEN LIQUEFACTION PROCESSES
Abstract :
The nitrogen is used in particle accelerators and colliders, synchrotrons, medical disciplines, the processing of metal, cooling of food and the chemical industry. The air consists of various components, and the three dominant components are nitrogen, oxygen and argon. The most important component of air is nitrogen. Therefore, decomposition and liquefaction of nitrogen has a big significance. Air separation methods are basically made by three different methods. One of these methods is cryogenic separation. In this study, the nitrogen liquefaction unit integrated in the air separation unit was investigated. In the thermodynamic calculations made, the COPactual and COPreversible values of the nitrogen liquefaction cycle are calculated.
