Abstract :
Even though ‘money does not buy hapiness’ is a known cliche, it is an undeniable reality that in a country in which economical growth takes place, higher living standards are provided. In 1960’s the life expectancy was determined to be 50,5, as time passes the expectancy has been in an increasing manner, in 1990’s it was 66 while in 2015 it reached to 75. Economical growth, better living standards, the equal distribution of the investments for the health sector for both metropolitan and provinces are effective on this increase. In this study, the inequality in the distribution of hospital beds to the provinces of Turkey, which is one of the important indicator for health sector is measured and interpreted for the data sets for the institutions of Ministry of Health, for the institutions which are not working directly under the supervision of the ministry and for the total number by using Gini Index, Theil T Index, Theil L Index, Atkinson Index and Hoover Index for 1977 -2014. It is observed that, as the time passes from 1974 to 2014, other than some exceptional years, the inequality was decreasing and the investments are made not only to metropolitan but also to provinces.
