Abstract
Burnout syndrome is a phenomenon that negatively affects the working life on both personal and organizational aspects. This study addressed the theoretical framework of professional burnout syndrome that affects individuals physically, mentally and emotionally. The aim of this study was to identify the burnout levels of 173 bank employee in Kars province, to evaluate the relationship between demographic variables and burnout level and finally, by determining the origin of burnout problem, to create coping methods with burnout syndrome. The findings showed that the Maslach Burnout Scale differed according to the demographic variables and there was a relationship between subdimensions of burnout and demographic variables. As a result of analysis, it was determined that burnout levels of employee was at moderate level. Considering the sub-dimensions of burnout, emotional burnout and depersonalization were at moderate level whilst the personal accomplishment was at low. Consequently, burnout levels of the employee were found to be moderate in terms of some demographic variables and low in terms of some other variables.
