Abstract
The aim of the study is to determine burnout of academics, to investigate effects of role ambiguity, role conflict and social support on burnout and to analyze level of burnout in terms of some demographic variables. In this research done on 417 academics working in public and foundation universities in Istanbul and whose data collected by survey method, the relationship between variables and interactions found out with regression analyze. At the end of the research, it was determined that the role ambiguity, role conflict and social support correlated with burnout and all dimensions, these variables affected burnout and there were significant relationships/differences between some demographic variables and level of burnout.
