Abstract :
While ebola was seen sporadically in Africa for a long time, it emerged at a pandemic level in March, 2014. Zaire ebolaviruse is responsible for the recent epidemic and fatality rate has reached 74%. Disease is transmitted by direct contact with some wild animals such as chimpanzee, gorilla, fruit bats, antelopes or with bodily fluids or skin of agent bearing patients / people who lost their lives from disease. In terms of protection, not only the health systems must be configured properly, but also the formal or informal caregivers must comply with the contact precautions. It is of great importance for the nurses to know how to manage the symptoms of individuals who have been diagnosed with Ebola while giving nursing care in accordance with contact precautions in order both to prevent the transmission of disease and to increase the likelihood of patient survival. Therefore, it is expected that this article to contribute for nurses in terms of protection from Ebola and symptom managment.
