Culture and Management Style Interaction in Relation to the Strategic Orientation: A Research on Municipalities in Black Sea Region

This study aims to investigate the strategic orientation and management styles of municipal managers in terms of cultural properties in the Western and Eastern Black Sea Region, which indicates different cultural characteristics. With this purpose, the data collected, using questionnaire in relation to manager’s perception, were analyzed with the Independent T test, regression and correlation and previous literature on the subject has been presented. The findings have been showed that there are differences among employees in relation to the formal and informal relationships, no difference in terms of other relationships which was investigated in the study and there is a linear relationship between cultural properties and management styles of the managers. It can be said that canalizing the differences in the relations between employees to the benefit of the organization and employees, the sustainability of the positive structure in the relationships between cultural properties and management style, and the efforts such as the harmonizing the organization culture together with local values would be beneficial.
