We have dealt with some prosodical issues which are met in compositions of lyrics written in the form of mef ulu mefailü mefailü feulün in arud according to the rhythmic pattern of sengin semâî. In this work, nearly 400 compositions found within TRT repertoire and also those which are characteristically non-religious and in the form and rhythm in question and regular with respect to long-short syllable symmetry were looked over in terms of syllables s allocation into rhythm. And we have reached some important conclusions. To make a final decision, Refik Fersan’s six compositons were scrutinized in its form and rhythm, and consequently it has been come to conclusion that he ruined well-known and accustomed practices according to prosody and thus had influence on certain compositors.
