Abstract
Blending traditional producing techniques in printmaking with contemporary approaches, Paul Coldwell has melted digital methods and traditional printmaking techniques in the same pot. The artist has participated in various researches as an academician, written books and held exhibitions. In this study, the artistic view and the place within the printmaking circle of Coldwell, well-known with his art as well as his academician identity, will be discussed via his artworks based on still-life he created using halftone dots. Digital printing that is a new manner of expression of printmaking art which has an established history and continues to update itself day by day, and halftone method will be discussed in the basis of the fictional approach of the artist’s works.
