Effect of Different Sowing Dates on Seed Yields and Yield Components of Phacelia (Phacelia Tanacetifolia Benthmam ) in Autumn Sowing Period

Abstract
This research was carried out in order to determine the most appropriate sowing dates for seed yield of phacelia (Phacelia tanacetifolia Benthmam) in Akmanlar Village of Bartın along the autumn sowing periods of both 2012-2014 years. The experiment was arranged within the completely randomized block with three replications. The effects of six different sowing dates on seed yields and yield components of phacelia in autumn sowing period were investigated. According to the research results, it was obtained that the highest biological yields and hay yields were from S3 sowing time with 39770 kg ha^-1 and 38280 kg ha^-1 respectively. The highest seed yields with 1710 kg ha^-1 and harvest index with 5.75% were obtained from S4 sowing time. Within Western Black Sea Region and similar ecosystem, it was determined that the cultivation of phacelia plant for seed yield could be done throughout October. Furthermore, it was observed that the yield and its components decreased in delayed sowing terms.
