Abstract
Ever increasing importance of promotional activities for the firms operating in tourism sector requires professional managers to take care more about the promotion elements such as advertising, public relations, personal selling and sales promotion. Those firms that do not employ all promotional activites together will be less successfull than those firms that do so. In this study, it is attempted to examine the extent to which firms operating in Bodrum region, which is an important tourism centre, employ promotional activities. This study is also aimed at determining whether firms expectations are fulfilled on touristic consumers as a result of implementation of promotional activities by tourism firms.
