Abstract :
Various changes have been made in the field of education, curriculum as well as textbooks related to Turkish World in Turkey since 1991. In this context, aim of this research is to search the situation of Turkish World in textbooks which are based on social studies curriculum. Document scanning method was conducted. 4-7 classes’ (1998-2005) social studies curriculum and textbooks were investigated and problem was stated. Findings of research show that there is specifically a unit which is about Turkish World in 7th textbook. In addition to it was detected that 2005 social studies curriculum has a objective related to Turkish Republics and even though there are objectives about countries in 4 and 5. class, authors have initiative for countries’ examples. Turkish and Turkish Republics’ curriculums are advised that they should include subjects or units relateds to knowing each other and the unity of Turkish World.
