Abstract
Some countries and companies performing better than others in term of innovation performance has led the researcher to look for the factors behind this phenomenon. This study explains the link between cultural characteristics and innovation. The study particularly investigates the link between Turkish cultural characteristics and innovation. The study is done through combining the various related literature, analyzing and evaluating. Although the study shows that Turkey has a low potential in term of the cultural characteristics, Turkey takes part in innovation activities and tries to develop them within its capacity and conditions. What is important is to discover the ways that leads to innovation and to support them. On the other hand, the infrastructure and other elements that promote and support innovation need to be developed. By doing so, Turkey will obtain its innovation share that it deserves.
