Abstract :
The aim of this research is to examine the relationship between self-efficacy beliefs of parents who have children at secondary schools and their demographical properties. To achieve this goal, datas have been collected from 430 families with children studying at secondary schools in Malatya city center and Akçadağ, the district of Malatya. (263 mother, 167 father). In order to obtain parents’ parental self efficacy, Perceived Parental Self-Efficacy Scale-PPSS which was developed by Regalia, Scabini, Barbanelli ve Bandura (2004) and adapted by the Demir (2013) in the examination. In addition to these, personal information form was used so as to find out parental self efficacy, sex, age, income, childrens’ number and educational status.In the process of analyzing, SPSS 17.0 programme was used. To find out relationship between parental self efficacy and sex, age, income, childrens number and educational status ‘t’ test and to discover relation between Anova (f) test were used in the search. After analyzed the datas these results were no meaningful relationship between parental efficacy and relation in favor of fathers. There is no meaningful relationship between parental efficacy and age parameters. Increasing the level of education increases, the level of parental efficacy. The parents who have 500-100 tl income( in lower scale) have low parental efficacy points. The numbers of children which parents have no meaningful contribution to the level of parental efficacy.
