ASHAABE KARIA AND HABIB AL-NAJJÂR IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE QUR’AN
Abstract :
Surah Yâsîn addressing monotheism, prophethood and the faith of theHereafter issues is considered as the heart of the Qur an. As with the cultural nameas Companions of the Carya, Ashâbü’l-Karye/City Folk Story, it may be considered as the heart of Surah Yâsîn. In this article, the messages in this surah told in relation with this story are examined, and the event of Habib-i Najjar and his comply with the call of messenger / the inviters and consequences that he faced are discussed in detail with regard to different tafsirs.Companions of the Carya, Ashâbü’l-Karye/City Folk Story in Surah Yâsîn is also known as Habib-i Najjar story, and the story and its effect has still been told in Antakya region. Yet, it still maintains its vitality today. Looking from this perspective, this article focuses on this story also as a case of local scientific research.
