Title Of Article :
INVESTIGATION OF WORK SATISFACTION AND FATIGUE LEVELS OF TURKISH FOOTBALL REFEREES
Abstract :
The purpose of this study was to examine the job satisfaction and perceived level of professional burnout among referees in Turkey. The subjects group was composed of 198 male referees who are from different cities of Turkey. The data were collected through Maslach Burnout Inventory (1981) and Minnesota Work Satisfaction Scale (1967). Kruskal Wallis Test, Mann Whitney U Test and Spearman correlation coefficient were used to analyze the data. No statistically significant difference was found between the referees’ “work satisfaction and burnout” levels and the education level, age, marital status and professional variables (p 0,05). However, significant differences were found in the “work satisfaction” levels of referees who had played football previously and in the “emotionality” of the referees in terms of their years in the profession (p 0,05). Also the findings showed that personal accomplishment had a significant direct negative effect on depersonalization, whereas emotional exhaustion had a direct positive effect on depersonalization.
