Abstract
The magnetization creep and the thermal aftereffect of sintered Co5 Sm samples were measured in the neighborhood of the remanent state. The temperature dependence of the thermal aftereffect constant Sv and the field excursion dependence of Sv and of the creep effect were investigated. With a high speed, low drift SQUID-system and the aid of a precision temperature controller, magnetization changes of the order of 10-6of the remanent magnetization Mr could be measured. The creep effect was found to follow a
law for
, where n is the number of minor hysteresis cycles. Starting from the sheared remament state however, for field amplitudes up to 100 A/cm, a creep effect could not be detected, i.e.
is smaller than 10-6, Mr . For the investigated specimens the thermal aftereffect constant Sv in the interval 220K - 300K was found to decrease with increasing temperature.
