  • Abstract
    The influence of the sign and the magnitude magnetostriction constant λson various physical properties was studied. The stress dependence of the hysteresis, of the electrical resistivity, the Mössbauer hyperfine field and the neutron depolarisation was measured on ribbons with λs> 0 and λs< 0. The change of the Young´s modulus with the external stress and the applied field also sensitively reflects the sign of λsas demonstrated on Fe85B15.
