Abstract :
Thermomagnetic and thermoelectric studies were performed on 1) ferromagnetic metallic glasses of the Fe-Ni-B-Si system and 2) ferro- and paramagnetic ones containing the rare earth elements. The characteristic nonlinear temperature variation of thermoelectric power found for all ferromagnetic alloys supports the applicability of the Grest - Nagel model to the electron transport phenomena in magnetically ordered amorphous solids. This model is additionally confirmed by information on the hyperfine field distribution obtained from Mössbauer spectroscopy. The influence of ferro - paramagnetic transition and crystallization processes onto thermoelectric power is also observed.
