Abstract
A technique is proposed to simultaneously dither and enhance the resolution of sigma-delta digital-to-analogue converters. Increased resolution is obtained by modifying the quantisation noise spectrum to give a highpass response. This has the effect of introducing a DC zero in the noise shaping function to achieve greater resolution for a given loop order
