Abstract :
At frequencies above 10 GHz, rain attenuation can be a significant factor in determining the operating margins of communications satellite systems, particularly for links to tropical, high-rainfall-rate regions. To establish accurate prediction models for those regions, it is necessary to conduct a number of measurements. The letter reports the results of one such experiment, utilising a 12 GHz radiometer, in Hong Kong.
