Abstract
Electromagnetic phenomena in a flat linear induction motor and their influence on motor performance when the primary is twisted in relation to the direction of the secondary movement are discussed. A theoretical analysis takes into account edge effects due to the finite primary width and length. Computational results are presented in the form of surface distribution of a magnetic field and force densities and electromechanical characteristics obtained at various primary twists.
