Abstract :
The burgeoning research into computer assisted industrial efficiency has highlighted the need for integrated databases in order that disparate areas of endeavour might be successfully linked. Such databases will contain device geometries defined in a formally complete manner. This underlines the importance of automatic mesh generation in two and three dimensions as part of the finite element analyses interface. This paper describes a technique, for automatically generating two dimensional meshes, suitable for inclusion in such an interface. The technique is simple, relatively fast and allows the user very naturally a high degree of control over the final mesh.
