Abstract :
We re-examine a model relating the stress (σ) dependence of the macroscopic magnetic properties (initial susceptibility χi, coercive field Hc, and effective anisotropy Keff) to the domain structure and quenched-in stress field of an amorphous alloy. The model parameters (saturation magnetostriction λs, volume average of quenched-in stresses \\bar{\\sigma }_{c} , and strain-independent anisotropy Ko) are shown to self-consistently determine measured values of KeffThe evolution of these parameters for strain-relieving anneals of amorphous Co75Si15B10and Co71Fe4Si15B10is examined.
