Abstract :
The Sequential Regression Algorithm is used to design transversal filter equalizers for magnetic recording. By the use of this adaptive filter technique, the mean square error solution to the transversal filter design problem can be solved for pseudorandom data patterns with noise. In addition, the distortion caused by the LC delay lines used in implementing the transversal filter can be compensated for.
