Abstract :
Scattering of a plane incident wave by a perfectly conducting 90° wedge is calculated by the uniform geometrical theory of diffraction (UTD) and the exact series expansion of cylindrical wave functions. The results demonstrate that UTD expressions can be used for engineering purposes even in the extreme near zone where one would not expect the asymptotic theory to work
