Abstract :
Iron loss and building factor of stacked cores using amorphous alloys are studied by Epstein test method, magnetic field analysis using finite element method and experimental transformers. The against-to-with ratios of iron losses and magnetizing forces are considerably high. Iron loss and building factor of three phase amorphous transformer obtained by use of analysis and experiment are lower than those of grain oriented silicon steel.
