Abstract :
A scheme is proposed for overcoming the finite-range limitation of certain state of polarisation (SOP) control devices. It is shown how, by the introduction of two additional SOP control devices, an automatic SOP control system having a limited range of operation can be adapted to provide unlimited polarisation control.
