Abstract :
An existing model for estimating Hc(P) was used to study anhysteresis. It considered a number of assemblies of aligned and randomly sited cylindrical particles, each supporting a (+) pole and a (-) pole near either end. Associated with each assembly was a central particle comprising a chain of six spheres. Each central particle was subject to 18 components of the interaction field. There is reason to believe that these sets are independent of the overall magnetization. As the applied field changes, the sets then circulate amongst the particles. The response of a system of such chain-of-sphere particles to the anhysteretic process was determined. The principal features of anhysteresis were quite well described.
