Abstract
Magnetic and structural properties of electrodeposited amorphous Fe-Mn alloy films have been investigated. Amorphous Fe-Mn alloys are obtained by the electrodeposition without containing other elements such as metalloids. The standard electrode potential of Mn is so negative compared to that of Fe in aquous solutions that the conditions of the codeposition of Mn with Fe are strictly restricted. In this work the conditions of the formation of the amorphous structure in Fe-Mn alloys are described and the saturation magnetization of the amorphous films is shown. The magnetization of the amorphous Fe-Mn alloys is considerably different from that of bulk Fe-Mn alloys.
