Abstract :
Using the accelerated crucible rotation technique, single crystal BiCaInVIG with 4πMs=200-650 G,ΔH(3GHz)= 0.31-0.78 Oe and YGaIG with 4πMs=200-1000 G,ΔH(3GHz) = 0.24-O.91 Oe, were grown by the flux method. The magnetic properties of these two material series are presented and compared in detail. It is shown that the BiCaInVIG crystals possess lower linewidth ΔH and lower anisotropy field K1/MS relative to YGaIG. The frequency dependence of ΔH is given for YGaIG and the mechanisms for microwave loss are discussed.
