Abstract
A 4 Ã 4 optical gate matrix switch is fabricated from high-silica single-mode guided-wave optical circuits. Mach-Zehnder interferometer circuits operated by electrical heating are used as optical gates. The switch has a 400 Mbit/s switching bandwidth.
