Abstract :
A novel, in-line, polarimetric fibre interrogator for ´white-light´ interferometry is described. It consists of two equal lengths of polarisation-maintaining fibre, spliced with their polarisation axes orthogonal. The interferometer path difference is thermally tuned over the free-space equivalent of +or-180 mu m to allow matching to a remote sensor interferometer.
