Abstract :
A simple non-invasive sensor measures complex permittivity at microwave (UHF) frequencies from changes in resonance frequency and reflection coefficient. Response to reference liquids is in good agreement with finite difference time-domain calculation. The sensor is intended for detection and characterisation of breast tumours but has wider applications.
