Abstract :
The recent trend of digital convergence requires processing the conventional analog TV decoding digitally. In this paper we propose an implementation of video decoder for fixed rate sampled SECAM video signals. The implementation includes a frequency demodulation method to recover luminance and chrominance signals from the composite signal. The corresponding VLSI chip is fabricated with 0.18 mum technology in order to verify the performance and physical characteristics of the implementation.
