Abstract :
A novel method is described for fabricating wavelength-flattened fibre couplers with the combination of one intrinsically photosensitive fibre and one standard singlemode fibre. The spectrum monitored in real time can be shifted and flattened to the desired wavelength band by exposing the entire coupler to intense ultraviolet light.
