Abstract :
Layouts for the contemporary Persian (Farsi) alphabet and numerals using readily available standard 16-segment alphanumeric displays have been designed. The display has been implanted using commercially available 16-segment LED/LCD display modules intended for the display of English characters. The code converter required is much simpler than that for a 5×7 dot matrix display. A 64-word ASCII character set that also includes special symbols is presented
