Abstract :
The authors discuss the design of a pseudo-two-dimensional median filter based on a novel compare-and-decode technique. The filter can be easily implemented using standard MSI devices. When running at 1.5 MHz, it takes only 0.35 s to filter a 512×512×8-b picture frame
