Abstract
Any company that relies on any form of inspection, measuring or test equipment for evaluation or comparison of their finished product must in practice have some form of control over that equipment. This control is often very important and forms a complete section in most of the standards concerned with the quality assurance of a product or service. This article seeks to identify some of the requirements of such a system and to highlight particular weaknesses in some of the current industry practices
