Abstract
This work presents a proposal for a particle system created on Nvidia´s CUDA platform. The proposed system was built on a modular project and implements fluid simulation through the Discrete Element Method and N-Body gravitational simulation. In order to improve the system´s performance three acceleration structures were implemented: uniform grid, octree and kd-tree. A quantitative analysis of the execution performance of both simulators demonstrated a performance improvement due to the use of the acceleration structures.
