  • Abstract
    Transverse-mode control in an injection laser by a strip-loaded waveguide structure is described. A stable single transverse-mode was obtained at currents up to about five times threshold with a 4-μm waveguide width. This laser is easily fabricated by liquid-phase-epitaxial processes and selective chemical etching techniques.
