Abstract :
With a slight modification of the existing electroplating and annealing processes, the authors report the development of a corrosion resistant, highly permeable and high saturation magnetic flux density film. The highest saturation magnetic flux density (Bs) of the films was 19900 Gauss and highest permeability was 1600. Sample heads with Co-Fe-Ni film demonstrated significantly better overwrite performance than conventional NiFe thin film heads, as consistent with a series of finite element (FE) analysis calculations
